Uruguayan born Nestor Manuelian has rapidly become one of Australia’s hottest dancers. Taking the Salsa world by storm with his many achievements such as his performance debut in November 2003, where with less then a years training he placed 2nd in the annual Sydney Salsa Competition against some of Sydney’s highly decorated professionals. Since then he has gone on to win 6 nationally recognised competitions including the Sydney Salsa Competition for two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005 and 5 different Australian National titles, in Brisbane 2004, Sydney 2005, Perth and Adelaide 2006, and Sydney 2007. In 2007, Nestor together with his partner Lidia also won their first International title, the ‘Asian Salsa Open’ in Hong Kong.
Nestor started studying and dancing Bachata back in 2005. Falling in love with the music and dance, he pursued it much like his Salsa. He was taught by none other than Juan Ruiz. With a lot of the Brazilian Zouk Lambada influence in the Latin culture, particularly the Bachata community, Nestor’s passion for Bachata can be seen through his very smooth and sophisticated dance style. His incredible musicality and personal interpretation of music is what makes his moves and turn patterns unique.
As well as teaching worldwide and all over Australia at many prestigious events and congresses, Nestor also has two Bachata DVD’s which sell out all over the world. His DVD’s are for beginners all the way through to the advanced Bachatero. You can find your basics all the way through some intricate turn patterns and some hot sexy dips! Nestor is also one of the successful organisers for the first ‘Sydney Bachata Festival 2008’.
Nestor’s love of Bachata is clearly evident through his classes & workshops which are always entertaining and packed with fun.
